Tribute
Thomas (“TJ,” “Tommy,” “Tom”) Freeman, 65, of Metairie passed away on May 25th, 2022, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Thomas grew up in Kenner, and attended Archbishop Rummel High School, then Georgia Technical University in Atlanta until needing to come back to Louisiana to support his family. He worked at various hotels in and around New Orleans as a Chief Engineer where he trained others as a strong and knowledgeable leader. He was a kind-hearted and generous man who always gave a helping hand to others and often did so anonymously, not wanting to take credit for his kindness, and preferred to stay in the background putting others forward. He had a quick-witted sense of humor through his love of words and was always ready with a joke. Thomas will be dearly missed and always remembered by his family and colleagues.
Thomas was predeceased by his mother, Angelina, his father, Frank, and his brother, John. He is survived by his love, Anne McFarland, his daughters, Liz McFarland and Jamie Eby, and son, Matthew McFarland, his sons-in-law, Mike and Nick, and his grandchildren, Sylvan, Leo, and Will. Thomas did not request a traditional funeral service, but a celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date.
