“Big Lee” Martin entered the Big LSU Stadium in the sky on Saturday, May 5, 2018. He was 53 years old. Brother of April Martin McElroy (Jeff), Lee Caballero, Jamie Scaffidi, and the late Vickie Martin Solis and Chris Martin. Uncle of Liam McElroy, Davin McElroy, Chris Martin, Melissa Marino, and Andre Solis. Son of the late Carolyn Bragg and Leroyal Pierre Martin, who was the former head chef at Antoine’s Restaurant. Big Lee was a native of New Orleans and longtime resident of Metairie. He was the proud owner of Big Lee’s Towing for many years. As evident from his house on Bonnabel, Big Lee was certainly the biggest LSU fan around, and was in close competition for being the biggest Saints fan too. He was a “unique” character who had a big heart and was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to come celebrate Big Lee’s LSU sendoff on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at THARP-SONTHEIMER-THARP, 1600 North Causeway Boulevard, Metairie, beginning at 11:00 am and concluding with a prayer service at 1:00 pm. An online guestbook is available at www.tharpsontheimerfh.com.
