Irma Marjorie Favaron Passed away peacefully on November 27, 2017 at The Poydras Home in New Orleans. She was 96 years. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, the youngest of eight children to the late Rosanna Whalen Favaron and Nicholas Favaron. A graduate of C.E. Byrd High School, l she joined the Women’s Army Corp where she served in Frankfort, Germany and in New York City until the beginning of the l950’s. After receiving her college and Master’s Degree from Sacramento State, CA. she remained as an educator in the California State Education system until her retirement in 1992 when she moved to New Orleans, La. She was a great lover of family, music, and an avid traveler including trips to Africa, China, and Europe. She is preceded in death by sisters Madeline Favaron Lotspeich of Shreveport, La., Rose Favaron Dreese of Chico, Ca., Thelma Favaron Trusty, of New Orleans, La, brothers, Alphonse, Herbert, James, and Earl Favaron of Shreveport, La., nephew, Jerald Nicholas Lotspeich of Shreveport, La. and niece Dorothy Deese Stilley of Chico, Ca. She is survived by three nieces, Shirley Trusty Corey and Linda Trusty Wessel, both of New Orleans, Florence Deese Landerman of Placerville, CA., Paul Favaron of St. Petersburg, Fl., James Favaron of Tennessee, niece-in-law Carol Lotspeich of Shreveport La., and nine great nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass for family and friends will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on 631 State St, at noon on Monday, December 4.
