Ula Troxler Block, 92, loving wife of Harold L. Block, died June 25, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Polymnie “Polly” Troxler and Cyril “Trixie” Troxler. Aunt of Karen Breen (Patrick), Charles Block (Maureen), Jeffrey Block (Judy) and David Block (Tara). A native of Taft, resident of Norco until 1945 and, since then, a resident of New Orleans. Ula worked and eventually ran the Blood Bank at Touro Infirmary Hospital for more than 40 years. A graduate of LSU, she was a retired Medical Technologist. During her professional career she was active In the American Society of Medical Technologists, the New Orleans Antibody Club, South Central Association of Blood Banks, American Association of Blood Banks, and the Louisiana State Society of Medical Technologists, who names her the Medical Technologist of the year 1972. Ula loved to garden and especially loved traveling with her husband. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 9:00 am from Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, 1600 N.
