Philip Louis Shushan, age 79, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Son of the late Freida Rappaport and Julius Shushan. Survived by first cousins Betty Leifer, Elliott Lew (Sandy Lassen), Nathan Lew (Robin), Elliot Shushan (Susan), Alex Green (Lynn), Cynthia S. Heller (Ike), Rochelle S. Wilons (Elliott), Marlene Lew, Sue Rae S. Fliescher (Richard) and the late Morris Lew, Fanny Lew Buder and Rose Resnick.
Shushan was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, a 1955 graduate of Fortier High School and received his undergraduate degree and Civil Engineering degree from LSU. He retired in 2007 from the Finance Department of the City of New Orleans. He was a patron of the Ben Katz Post No. 580, Jewish War Veterans. He was a good son, good cousin, and great friend who loved his Saints, Tigers baseball and enjoyed life.
Graveside services were held at Chevra Thilim Memorial Park, 5000 Iberville at Helena Street, New Orleans on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 2:30 PM with Rabbi Debra Silver officiating.
